1. Academic Olympiads – Learning Meets Adventure
(The Individual, Gamified Quizzing Challenge) Individual Entry Fee: ₹300 per student
A. Enrollment and Technical Requirements
Dual Enrollment: Students can register via Institutional Bulk Entry (preferred, coordinated by the school) or Individual Entry (if the school is not participating, requiring proof of student ID/enrollment).
Access and Login: Each registered student will receive a unique access code (WorkID and password). This code is the student’s identity throughout the competition.
Proctored Setup (Mandatory):
Device: Only desktop or laptop computers are permitted. Tablets and smartphones are strictly prohibited for competition rounds.
Connectivity: A minimum sustained internet speed of 512 Kbps is required. WorkAdventure is not responsible for disconnections due to unstable personal internet.
Browser: Use the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. The platform will not support other browsers.
Webcam & Mic: A functioning webcam and microphone are mandatory for the duration of the attempt.
B. Competition Structure and Mechanics
The Quest Map: The Olympiad is divided into four mandatory modules (e.g., Algebra Abyss, Physics Peaks). Each module must be completed sequentially.
Level Progression (Knowledge Gems):
Each module contains multiple quizzes (dungeons) and logic puzzles (mini-quests).
Successfully completing a quiz awards "Knowledge Gems". A minimum threshold of Gems must be collected within the module to unlock the final "Boss Battle".
Quiz Format: All quizzes are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
The Boss Battle: This is the highest-scoring section, consisting of 5 complex, multi-step problem-solving questions or a short case study.
Time Limit: The Boss Battle is strictly timed (e.g., 20 minutes) and the timer begins immediately upon entry. Time used here significantly impacts the ranking tie-breaker.
C. Scoring and How to Win
Point Allocation (Internal):
Basic Quizzes: 5 points per correct answer.
Mini-Quests (Puzzles): 15 points per correct solution.
Boss Battle Questions: 50 points per correct solution.
No negative marking is applied in the Basic Quizzes.
Winning Criteria:
Primary Rank: Determined by the student’s Total Accumulated Points.
Tie-Breaker: If two or more students have the exact same score, the rank is determined by the shortest "Total Completion Time" recorded for all modules (time from first login to final submission). To win, students must focus on accuracy first, then speed.
D. Strict E-Proctoring and Disqualification
Consent and Monitoring: By clicking "Start Test," the student consents to continuous audio, video, and screen recording for the duration of the test.
Immediate Disqualification (Zero Tolerance): The system will automatically terminate the test and disqualify the student for:
Off-Screen Detection: Student's face or upper body leaving the webcam view for more than 10 seconds.
Tab Switching: Navigating away from the primary test window, minimizing the screen, or using shortcuts (Alt+Tab, Cmd+Tab).
External Presence: Detection of any other individual in the video frame (unless pre-approved for primary classes).
Voice/Audio Prompts: Detecting external voices or sounds indicative of communication.
Malpractice: Any use of printed/written materials, mobile phones, or smart devices.
2. Mini Hackathons – Build What You Want to Fix
(The Team-Based Design Thinking Challenge) Individual Entry Fee: ₹500 per student
A. Team Formation and Access
Team Size: Mandatory 4 members per team. No exceptions or substitutions after registration.
Enrollment: Teams can be formed through Institutional Bulk Entry or by Individual Entry (team leader registers all 4 members and pays the fee).
The Project Cube (Workspace):
The registered team leader receives the single access code for the private, virtual "Project Cube" within the WorkAdventure pixel world.
Only registered team members can access this Cube, which contains all necessary project tools and submission portals.
Duration and Lockout: The Hackathon is strictly 72 hours. The submission portal will lock exactly at the deadline (Time Zone specified upon launch).
B. Project Theme and Deliverables
Problem Statement: Teams must submit a proposal that addresses the challenge: "Redesign and optimize a single, existing area of your school campus for maximum utility and sustainability."
Mandatory Deliverables (3 Files):
(A) Pixel Prototype/Mockup (Image/PDF): A visual design of the solution. This can be a high-fidelity image or a simple wireframe/flowchart created using any tool, detailing the user experience or physical layout of the redesign.
(B) Written Proposal (Max 1000 Words, PDF): A formal document covering: Problem, Solution, Implementation Plan (who, what, when), Estimated Cost/Resources, and Projected Impact (quantifiable metrics).
(C) Video Pitch (Max 3 Minutes, MP4): A professional, concise presentation where all team members must appear and speak, explaining why their solution is the best choice for the school.
Originality: The idea must be novel and developed entirely within the 72-hour period. Pre-existing, fully funded, or implemented ideas are grounds for disqualification.
C. Judging Criteria and How to Win
Judging Panel: Projects will be evaluated by an external panel of subject matter experts (e.g., architects, educators, designers).
Winning Criteria (Weighted Score):
Innovation & Relevance (35%): How unique is the idea, and how critically important is the problem it solves for the student body?
Feasibility & Cost-Effectiveness (30%): Can the school realistically implement this, and is the estimated budget reasonable for the impact?
Design Thinking & UX (20%): How thoughtful and user-friendly is the proposed design or solution flow?
Presentation Quality (15%): Clarity, professionalism, and persuasiveness of the Video Pitch and Written Proposal.
Dispute: Judge scores are final and not subject to review.
3. Learning ESports – Battles of Brilliance
(The Live, Head-to-Head Competitive Intelligence Events) Entry Fee: Varies (e.g., ₹1000 per team)
A. General Tournament Rules
Bracket System: The competition operates as a single-elimination bracket tournament. Losing a match/round results in immediate tournament exit.
Match Scheduling: Match timings are published 24 hours in advance. Teams/participants must log into the Battle Arena Lobby 15 minutes prior to their scheduled match time. Failure to appear on time results in a walkover loss.
Required Equipment: In addition to the standard proctored setup (webcam/mic), a functional headset is required to ensure clear audio for all live events (Debates, Quizzes).
B. Competition-Specific Rules and How to Win
Debate Duels (Team of 2)
The Debate Duels competition features a highly structured, two-sided debate format for teams of two participants. Each team will receive a topic just 30 minutes before the match begins, allowing for limited preparation. The debate follows a strict time structure, monitored by a virtual countdown clock, with specific limits for each segment: 3 minutes for the Opening Argument, 2 minutes for Rebuttal, and 1 minute for Closing Statement. The winning team is determined by an expert judging panel immediately following the match conclusion. Scoring is weighted across three key areas: Substance (40%), which evaluates the quality of research and logical arguments; Delivery (30%), which assesses clarity, tone, and organization; and Rebuttal Effectiveness (30%), which measures the team's ability to counter the opponent's arguments.
Coding Combat (Team of 4)
Coding Combat is a fast-paced, team-based algorithmic challenge where teams of four race against the clock. The format requires teams to solve 3 algorithmic challenges of increasing difficulty within a total 90-minute time limit. Teams must use the in-platform terminal and are limited to only the approved programming languages: Python 3, Java 8, and C++. The competition's winning team is determined by the Highest Number of Correct Submissions. In the event of a tie in the number of correct submissions, the tie-breaker is the Fastest average Time-to-Solution across all successful submissions. A crucial element of the scoring is the application of a Penalty time added for incorrect attempts, emphasizing the need for both speed and accuracy.
Quiz Royale (Individual/Team)
Quiz Royale is a high-stakes, rapid-fire multiple-choice question (MCQ) competition structured across 12 rounds. Participants have only 10 seconds to answer per question. The format incorporates an elimination mechanic: the bottom 10% of participants are eliminated after rounds 4, 8, and 10. Winning the Quiz Royale is achieved by being the Last participant/team standing in the final round. Scoring is dynamic: a correct answer awards +10 points, while an incorrect answer incurs a -5 point penalty. Furthermore, a Speed Bonus of an extra 2 points is awarded for the fastest correct answer in each round, pushing competitors to be quick and confident.
C. Integrity and Technical Failure
Disruption: If an event is disrupted by an uncontrollable technical issue (platform failure, not user-side failure), the match may be restarted or postponed at the Tournament Director's sole discretion.
Code Security: For Coding Combat, only the platform's native editor can be used. Any attempt to paste external code or communicate code solutions outside the team’s private channel is grounds for immediate termination and permanent ban.
